This course introduces you to the issues, strategies, and relationships that relate to the job of developing sustainable revenue through well managed sales & business development activities. You will become acquainted managing a sales force and helping them sell. Business Administration Major

Effective IT security policies are the backbone to any enterprise security program, as they provide a framework and support mechanism for managing technologies, maintaining order and achieving organizational goals. They also help minimize threats, prevent security breaches and can assist employees in effectively managing risks. Throughout this course, students will learn how to design, implement and manage effective IT security policies. Students will be introduced to best-practice approaches needed to manage and assess proper execution and continued improvement.

The course will provide students with a thorough understanding of the techniques for achieving comprehensive security in modern multi-user computer systems and distributed networks.

Topic covered within the course include (among others) Cryptography, Authentication and Identity Management, Operating System and Software protection, network protection and intrusion detection, communication and data security as well as respective application scenarios.

This course provides students with a solid background on the main issues, theories and practices involved in the management of security in a corporate context. With the focus set on real-world application of innovative academic theory, topics include but are not limited to: security management theory, regulatory frameworks, strategic security and safety management and planning, terrorism, corporate responsibility and fraud-/loss prevention.
This course introduces students to various types of risk, setting a strong focus on understanding the process of risk identification, assessment, prevention, insurance, mitigation, and recovery. As risk and threat management rely on a solid corporate framework, students will learn to successfully deal with governance, auditing, as well as the integrity and availability of corporate data. The coursework provides a student with a comprehensive approach to the challenges faced by managers who have to deal with scenarios where risk, threat and regulations have become far more than plain theory.

Thesis Stage

All students will complete a capstone project. This requirement, synthesizes the student’s learning in a single project that demonstrates the student’s fulfillment of the program’s learning goals.
  • A research-based paper between 50 and 75 pages;
  • An action project, accompanied by a substantial essay that sets the project within intellectual and personal contexts; discusses its design, process and outcomes; and reflects on the student’s learning;
  • A creative project, accompanied by a substantial essay that sets the project within intellectual and personal contexts, discusses the process and its outcomes, and reflects on the student’s learning; or
  • An apt combination of these forms.
Students will be offered the possibility to participate at the regular face-to-face thesis defense dates of SMC in Europe/US or at a virtual thesis defense.

Graduation Criteria

The Master Degree is granted following the successful completion of the subjects.
The accumulation of a minimum of 90 (with a 4-year Bachelor) to 120 (with a 3-year Bachelor) ECTS credits (or less in accordance to the undergraduate degree credits) is required.
The completion of a capstone project is to be presented to the Swiss Management Center.
Students should achieve a minimum overall GPA of 2.7.
